Thumbs Up

My brand new, and very first homemade thumb ring.

I'm so pleased that it fits more than anything. (For those of you that know, metal clay can be a bit tricky with sizing).

Would love to make a whole set of them really; a teddy, a cat, a dog, a mouse... hmmm, what else?

Shakespeare

These are my findings from my recent trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon. I managed to find these gorgeous vintage books, and these gorgeous silver spoons.

I just fell in love with the books. I have been wanting some for a while, they make great photo props, but I managed to find three really interesting ones too. One is a rhyming dictionary, the other is about animals from the forest, and the other is about birds, nests and eggs. The illustrations in this one are so adorable. Look out for an egg inspired piece soon.

I have been looking for some ornate handled cutlery for ages. I found a project ages ago which used these handles, so now I can get started with that. Hmmm... am thinking of something in bronze ;)

As well as doing all the usual attractions, we also visited Magic Alley. Its a museum based around magic, wizards, witches and all things mystical. It was really fun, especially the Harry Potter room, where I was practicing my low light photography. I tried to get all the main things from the film, including: Hedwig, Harry's glasses, the hogwarts express, the time turner necklace, the golden snitch, and the tri-wizard cup.

How Owl Are You?

My gorgeous angry owl that I was made and given by the very talented Lena (Petra's sister) for my birthday. She has an adorable Etsy shop called Lena's Little Art Shop. It sells little animal models like this, and other gorgeous creations.
